The Townsville Institute of Health Research and Innovation (TIHRI)
The Townsville Institute of Health Research and Innovation (TIHRI) is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art research facility which includes a clinical trial unit suitable for conducting all clinical trial phases.
- The Institute has 36 desk spaces in the ‘main’ Institute area, with matching storage facilities, and six desk spaces in the clinical trial unit (CTU). These can be booked by emailing {"ct":"T+vBoCVQQHg8ikv569yWl708aNFLTRs7GV5pdiKgrp6\/T5N5th8Uv3CDGZiLT3xy","iv":"14db522553266578c29e071439252a04","s":"0b6a0df72343b33c"} with the following details: contact person; number of desks required; length of time required; days required.
- Within the Institute are three meeting rooms: CS2.029 Mount Kosciuszko Meeting Room; CS2.034 Mount Bartle Frere Meeting Room and CS2.045 Castle Hill Meeting Room. All meeting rooms have video conferencing and electronic whiteboard facilities. The meetings rooms are booked through the Townsville HHS Resource Management System (RMS). Priority is given to research and medical education and workforce services.
- The clinical trial unit (CTU) includes the following facilities:
- Consult room 1: Desk; chair; computer; phone; examination bed; stethoscope; otoscope; ophthalmoscope; portable sphygmometer; weigh scales; height chart; wall O2; wall suction; wash basin
- Consult room 2: Desk; chair; computer; examination bed; wall O2; wall suction; wash basin
- Multi purpose (Interview) rooms (x 2): Small round table; chairs; phone
- Specimen room: -800 fridge; small fridge; Biosafety cabinet; Centrifuge; wash basin
- Clean utility room: Fridge; lockable drug cupboard; wash basin; pathology equipment
- Dirty utility room: Wash basin; automatic Bed Pan Flusher/Sanitizer
- Procedure room: Hospital bed; phlebotomy chair, wash basin; emergency trolley; Vital Signs Monitor
