Clinical haematology and bone marrow transplant

The Department of Clinical Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) provides a tertiary-level service, with National Association of Testing Authority (NATA) accreditation, encompassing the following areas:

• Malignant haematology (all leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma)
• Autologous peripheral blood stem cell and bone marrow transplantation
• Related Donor Allogeneic Peripheral Blood Stem Cell & Bone Marrow transplantation
• Apheresis Program
• Clinical trials – both national and international
• Benign haematological disorders
• Blood transfusion
• Haemophilia care

The Bone Marrow Treatment Unit is a modern, dedicated and fit-for-purpose treatment environment with six pressurised rooms to look after some of the most unwell members of our community.
