Continence Advisory Service
The Continence Advisory Service provides advice on the management of continence concerns/chronic bladder and bowel issues through:
- Assessment and education for individuals
- Group education (B&B workshop) to enhance knowledge and skills for continence management
- Support and sharing of information and resources with health professionals.
Services are provided in a centre-based clinic.
Services are provided Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4pm.
Accessing the service
- The Continence Advisory Service does not accept referrals for persons under 18 years old.
- If you are under 65 years old or a First Nations Australian under 50 years old:
A referral is required from a GP or health professional. Contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit www.myagedcare.gov.au and ask to be referred to 'The Townsville Continence Advisory Service' for a continence assessment.
B & B (bladder & bowel) Workshop
The service also offers an education program called the B&B Workshop. To access this workshop, contact the Kirwan Health Campus or ask to be referred by your health professional. For more information, download the Bladder and Bowel Workshop Brochure.
