Home Care Services
Home Care Services provide clients with basic domestic assistance on a fortnightly basis. The team’s objective is to support our client’s functional ability and enhance wellbeing, assisting independent living in the community. Home Care Services provide basic chores around your home on a regular basis for re-ablement or on-going long-term care needs.
Home Care Services are funded as a Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), which helps senior Australians access entry-level support services to live independently and safely at home. CHSP works with you to maintain your independence rather than doing things for you.
There is a co-contribution payable for services which is determined based on your individual income circumstances.
Referral Process
For persons over 65 years of age or 50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people:
All referrals are directed to My Aged Care 1800 200 422; www.myagedcare.gov.au
Weekdays 8am – 8pm; Saturdays 10am – 2pm
When completing referrals to MyAgedCare, request referral be sent to: THHS Townsville Home Care Service as requested by client.
