Josephine Sailor Adolescent Inpatient Unit and Day Service (AIUDS)
The Josephine Sailor Adolescent Inpatient Unit and Day Service (AIUDS) program provides mental health care to adolescents, aged between 12 and 18 years of age, and their families from across North Queensland.
The inpatient unit is designed for brief crisis admission (seven-14 days) for adolescents with a range of mental health issues.
The day program provides both assessment and treatment of young people for up to six months. Care is structured around a 10-week school term in a therapeutic environment with group-based therapy, individual therapy, family therapy and specific allied health assessments on offer.
The multi-skilled clinical team consists of nurses, doctors, a social worker, an occupational therapist, a speech therapist, a clinical psychologist, teachers and an Indigenous health worker.

- Assessment, treatment and evaluation for young people and their families
- Longer-term intervention to young people requiring intensive support.
Referral procedure:
Internal referrals only via the Community Child and Youth Mental Health Service.
