Consumer and community engagement
Healthcare is better, stronger, and safer when we involve our patients, consumers, and community in the design of healthcare services.
There is no one better equipped to tell us what works and how, as well as where and when we need to innovate and improve.
The blueprint for our consumer and community engagement can be found in our Consumer and Community Engagement Strategy 2023-2026.
Our focus
We have three key focus areas to ensure we are working together with consumers to deliver the healthcare our community wants and needs.
- Better communication
- Improved consultation
- More co-design
If you’re interested in helping improve public healthcare services in our community, you can become a consumer in our Community Partner Program. Get in touch and tell us about yourself. We are always looking for interested people to engage with us on a range of topics which include everything from hospital food audits to building expansion projects.
How we engage
Some of the ways consumers and community members are involved in the health service include:
- Consumer Advisory Council
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Advisory Council
- Community Partner Program
- Providing feedback on their care and experience
